The Center on Society and Health has been contracted by General Electric to help identify opportunities for the business community help advance population health. Major employers have a business interest in improving the health of their workers and curbing health care costs, and the leadership of General Electric has recognized that investments in the community are an important priority. The Center has convened an Expert Advisory Panel—composed of 18 leading authorities in epidemiology, population health, economics, and business—and is providing guidance to the leadership of General Electric on priority areas where the business community can achieve meaningful impact on community health and wellbeing.
