How many people are experiencing hardships in the U.S.?

The Project on Societal Distress is a research effort to monitor the prevalence of societal distress in the U.S. and in specific states. We provide current data on five domains — food security, housing, health, education and income — and provide this information to the public and policymakers. We invite you to examine data and statistics, our publications and further details about the project.
